Week 13 NFL Power Rankings

Here's are some NFL power rankings for Week 13 of the 2008 NFL season.

1. New York Giants (10-1) After a convincing win in Arizona, the Giants look damn near unstoppable.

2. Tennessee Titans (10-1) The loss might be a good thing. Dealing with all the pressure of an undefeated season didn't help the Patriots in the playoffs last year. Maybe their first defeat takes the pressure off and they can focus on the post-season.

3. New York Jets (8-3) They've won five in a row and knocked off the league's remaining unbeaten team. Let the hype about an all-New York Giants/Jets Super Bowl begin!

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) The Steelers defense is absolutely dominating. They lead in total defense, run defense, and pass defense. And they lead lead the league in sacks. Who needs offense?

5. Carolina Panthers (8-3) Don't less the loss to the Falcons fool you. This is still one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-3) It would be nice to see the Bucs and Panthers end up in the NFC final just to have all the pundits at ESPN and elsewhere backpedal like Champ Bailey and talk about how they picked those two teams from the beginning.

7. Indianapolis Colts (7-4) The Colts beating the Chargers is starting to feel like an annual tradition. Their favourable schedule in the next few weeks will be enough to remind Colts fans of the glory days of 2005-06.

8. Baltimore Ravens (7-4) This team knows how to win in crunch time. In their past five wins, the Ravens have outscored opponents 77-0 in the fourth quarter.

9. New England Patriots (7-4) It's not like anyone is about to forget Tom Brady, but the fact that the Pats racked up 500 yards in offense in Miami shows that Bill Belichick knows enough about football to score on just about anyone.

10. Dallas Cowboys (7-4) Funny how the return of Tony Romo has turned everything around in Big D.

11. Atlanta Falcons (7-4) Matt Ryan has developed into a solid quarterback and his crew of receivers are coming along.

12. Washington Redskins (7-4) Their run defense is starting to slip. Not good news when you're about to play the Giants next week.

13. Chicago Bears (6-5) Of course, they looked good. They were playing St. Louis.

14. Arizona Cardinals (7-4) Kurt Warner continues to play well, but the Cards need to prove they can do more than feast on weak divisional opponents.

15. Miami Dolphins (6-5) The winning streak had to end sometime. They'll likely start a new streak next week when they play the Rams.

16. Minnesota Vikings (6-5) If they can keep forcing opponents to turn the ball over, then Adrian Peterson can do the rest.

17. Buffalo Bills (6-5) Trent Edwards can play. Unfortunately for him, he plays in one of the toughest divisions in football.

18. New Orleans Saints (6-5) Prove that they can still win at home.

19. Green Bay Packers (5-6) Aaron Rodgers has played well in the red zone. Still, Cheeseheads may start pining for the days of Brett Favre.

20. Denver Broncos (6-5) Lose a big game against the hated Raiders.

21. San Diego Chargers (4-7) The Chargers keep losing close games. Is it because of bad luck or bad clock management?

22. Philadelphia Eagles (5-5-1) How much longer can the Andy Reid/Donovan McNabb era last in Philly?

23. Houston Texans (4-7) Their pass defense made both of Cleveland's quarterbacks look terrible.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7) Couldn't get the running game going. Team chemistry is abysmal.

25. San Francisco 49ers (3-8) Coach Mike Singletary still can't get through to his players.

26. Cleveland Browns (4-7) Fans are begging to have Romeo Crennel fired. GM Phil Savage will likely respond to their pleas with an obscene e-mail.

27. Oakland Raiders (3-8) JaMarcus Russell finally manages to carry the team on his back.

28. Seattle Seahawks (2-9) Coach Mike Holmgren is just running out the clock on the season.

29. St. Louis Rams (2-9) Coach Jim Haslett swears that his team is playing hard. That's a scary thought.

30. Cincinnati Bengals (1-9-1) Ocho Cinco has done nada.

31. Kansas City Chiefs (1-10) Hard to tell who is more disinterested: KC players or fans?

32. Detroit Lions (0-11) What would Thanksgiving be without watching the Lions gets beaten at home?
